Pauls Malt is focused on developing a sustainable supply chain. We limit our impact on the environment, from barley to beer. As part of this commitment, we source our barley locally, from the coast of Suffolk to the highlands of Scotland.
We work with our growers to promote the continuous improvement of farming techniques through local sourcing programmes, which prioritise practices that are environmentally sound and beneficial to local communities. We’re currently working with local farmers and co-operatives to grow barley through the application of regenerative farming techniques.
As part of the Boortmalt family, Pauls Malt is committed to a number of sustainability initiatives, including the SBTi 1.5°C degree target in line with the Paris Agreement.
We’ve committed to reducing our carbon footprint by 42% by 2030. To do this, we’re investing in alternative, more sustainable energy sources, reducing our need for energy and setting up close partnerships with farmers to work towards carbon neutral malting barley.
